It's a happening month at the Central Arkansas Library System! September is Library Card Sign-Up Month and businesses in Pulaski County will offer discounts throughout the month to new and existing library card holders. Plus, families can attend movie screenings at the new CALS Ron Robinson Theater this month and more! Keep reading for more updates about what's happening at CALS.

National Library Card Sign-Up Month: Throughout the month of September, new and existing library card holders can snag discounts at local businesses, such as Hillcrest Artisan Meats, Museum of Discovery, Root Cafe and others! And, of course, with your free library card, you can check out books, audiobooks, movies, music and more at any of the CALS locations. For more info, click here.

Family Movies at CALS Ron Robinson Theater: This month, families can enjoy two family-friendly films at Central Arkansas Library System's Ron Robinson Theater in the River Market. The Muppets (2011), starring Jason Segal, Amy Adams and the whole puppet crew, will screen at 2 p.m. Saturday, September 13, and will be followed by an after-party featuring Muppet character photo booths. Hook, the 1991 flick starring Robin Williams and Dustin Hoffman, will be shown on Friday, September 19. A Talk Like a Pirate Day pre-party kicks things off at 6 p.m. and will include a pirate costume contest. The movie will follow at 7 p.m.

Tickets are $5 per person. Each event will feature some free concessions and door prizes. For info, click here.

Sunday Hours at Hillary Rodham Clinton Children's Library & Learning Center: The popular Children's Library and Learning Center is now open every day of the week! Previously closed on Sundays, the new hours are 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Mon.-Thu., 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Fri. & Sat., & 1-5 p.m. Sun.
