If you're passionate about helping your community, you don't want to miss the Heart of Arkansas United Way's 2014 Campaign Kick-Off, held at Dickey-Stephens Park this Wednesday, Sept. 10. The free event is open to public and features informational booths about the health and human service agencies that Heart of Arkansas United Way supports.

The organization raised more than $4.6 million dollars last year -- funds that went to help central Arkansans, including families, seniors and individuals with disabilities. Ronald McDonald House, American Red Cross, Camp Aldersgate, Our House and Arkansas Foodbank are a few of the organizations that receive support from United Way.

Attendees at the Campaign Kick-Off will enjoy free hot dogs, chili and ice cream, and can sign up to win a variety of door prizes.

The event is from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Sept. 10 at Dickey-Stephens Park. For information, visit HeartARUW.org.
