Put on your running shoes and head to one of these active events for families, all happening this weekend, Sept. 12-14.

1. ACH Superhero Dash-N-Bash at Murray Park: Grab your capes for this fundraising event to benefit the Hematology/Oncology Department at Arkansas Children's Hospital. Participants get access to four superhero-themed obstacle courses—perfect for kids of all ages. While athletes are waiting their turn in the obstacle course, they will enjoy music, food, a silent auction, a bounce house and costume contest. There will be a victory walk across the Big Dam Bridge at noon and a memorial balloon release at 10 a.m. $30, children ages 6-11 $25, children 5 and under free. 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Sept. 13. 2. Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Light The Night Walk at Rivermarket Ampitheater: An evening fundraising walk celebrates and commemorates lives touched by blood cancers. Join the Little Rock area walk and help raise money for patient services and research. Participants walk along a one-mile route, carrying illuminated lanterns—white for survivors, red for supporters, and gold in memory of a loved one. 6 p.m. Sept. 12. 3. The Fighting Red 5K: A Race to End Blood Cancer at Cook's Landing in North Little Rock: Walkers and runners are invited to take part in this officially-certified and timed event. T-shirts will be available for the first 200 registered, plus enjoy prizes and race route refreshments. Proceeds to benefit the Cord Blood Bank of Arkansas.
