In the 2014 Little Rock Marathon, Leah Thorvilson won for the fifth time in eight races in the women's division. From Little Rock, Thorvilson finished in 2:42 minutes.

By now, you're surely feeling a little bit of cabin fever. After a slurry of snow days, you can finally get out of the house and have fun at one of these awesome weekend events. Celebrate Black History Month on the last day of February, welcome March at a Sunday matinee performance from the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra and more. Keep reading for details on all five of our picks:

1. 12th Annual Little Rockers Kids Marathon in Downtown Little Rock: Spectators can watch as kids ages 7-12 complete the kid version of the Little Rock Marathon. Before race day, young athletes complete 25.2 miles over an extended period of time using the Little Rockers Kids Marathon Training Program. Cheer them on as they run their final mile and celebrate their accomplishment! The finish line will be at President Clinton Avenue and Sherman Street. The Little Rockers Kids Marathon starts at 10 a.m. Feb. 28; the full Little Rock Marathon will be held Sunday, March 1. For info: LittleRockMarathon.com.

2. James and the Giant Peach at CALS Ron Robinson Theater: Grab some popcorn and watch this 1996 musical fantasy film based on the classic novel by Roald Dahl. The film follows James, an orphan who befriends human-like bugs. They live inside a giant peach and go on an adventure to find New York City. The movie is rated PG. $5. 2 p.m. Feb. 28. 3. ASO Presents "Schubert's Unfinished" at Maumelle Performing Arts Center: Enjoy classical music from renowned violinist Vadim Gluzman as he joins the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra for this concert, which includes selections from Wagner, Brahms, and Schubert. Prices vary and students in grades k-12 are admitted free with paid adult to Sunday's matinee. 7 p.m. Feb. 28 & 3 p.m. March 1. For info: ArkansasSymphony.org.

4. Celebrate Black History Storytime at Barnes & Noble Locations in NLR & WLR: For the last day of Black History Month, stop by either location of Barnes & Noble for a free storytime featuring the children’s books "I am Rosa Parks" and "I am Jackie Robinson." 11 a.m. Feb. 28. 5. Catching Your Dreams Workshop at Toltec Mounds Archeological State Park: Learn techniques and traditions of American Indian dream catchers in this workshop.
