Daffodil Days & Tulip Extravaganza at Garvan Woodland Gardens: Celebrate the end of winter with thousands of daffodils blooming, azaleas and dogwoods flowering, and spring wildflowers and perennials budding, and nearly 150,000 tulips! Bloom times vary according to temperatures and rainfall; check the Gardens' Facebook page for current photos. 9 a.m.-6 p.m. daily. $15, ages 6-12 are $5, under 6 are free. Earth Day Celebration at Hillary Rodham Clinton Children's Library & Learning Center: Get earthy with tree plantings, activities, and demonstrations! 3:30-5:30 p.m. April 22. For info: (501) 978-3870, CALS.org. FREE!

Earth Day Celebration at Pinnacle Mountain State Park: Tree planting, tie-dying, and "Leave No Trace" activities are just a few of the events that will make this celebration something to remember. One of the many active events is tree-planting at 2 p.m. Please call the park or stop by the Visitor Center for a complete schedule of the day's events. 9 a.m.-4 p.m. April 19. Heifer Hour: North America at Heifer Village: Children and their parents make a craft while learning about farming in North America. This month guests make a life cycle of a plant wheel! Heifer Hour is the second Saturday of each month and features a craft, game, children’s book or outdoor activity to help teach kids about caring for the Earth and for other people. Just for Kids! Workshop: “Habitat” at Garvan Woodland Gardens: Bring your curiosity and leave armed with great information about what makes a good habitat and how you can create a better one at home, complete with seeds to get started. Lil' Wild Ones: "Observing Nature" at Central Arkansas Nature Center: Watching wildlife and observing nature is a fun way to spend time outdoors. Make a journal then take a stroll outdoors to observe nature. Then spend time recording your thoughts through writing and art. Little Beginnings Toddler Program: Earth Day at the Old State House Museum: Children ages 2-4 learn through hands-on activities, music, movement and storytelling focusing on Earth Day. Wildflower Week at Petit Jean State Park: Discover the colorful heralds of spring at Arkansas’s first state park!
