The Little Rock Farmers’ Market kicks off its 41st year on Saturday, May 2 with a family-friendly celebration in Downtown Little Rock's River Market District. The market opens at 7 a.m., with special events starting at 8 a.m.

Start the day off with a free yoga class taught by Big Rock Yoga on the Riverfest Amphitheater Stage from 8-9 a.m. Donations will go toward the Africa Yoga Project, a nonprofit dedication to improving lives of impoverished Africans through yoga.

Families won't want to miss an appearance by Dean the Bean, who will greet all of the Farmers’ Market patrons and kids. Magician Derrick Rose will also be on hand to entertain youngsters. Plus, kids can have their faces painted and more from Glitterville Tattoos.

Last, but not least, animal lovers can visit the Rock City Rescue booth and say hello to the adoptable dogs or sign up to be a foster family for the homeless animals.

Booths will also be set up for SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) sign-ups, beginning at 7 a.m.

The Farmers’ Market, located in the River Market Pavilion, is open 7 a.m.-3 p.m. each Sat. May 2-Oct. 31. The Tuesday Market will open 7 a.m.-3 p.m. June 2-Aug. 25. For more info, click here.
