North Little Rock's William F. Laman Public Library will once again host a free Summer Reading Program for all ages from infants to adults! Pre-registration is now available online, and the program officially begins on June 1.

The completely free program is open to the public, and all participants are encouraged to sign up for a free library card. Enrolled participants will receive a bag, button, pencil, bookmark and a reading log to record the number of books they've read.

The avid readers are recognized on a special chart in the library that tracks each participant's reading progress with stickers. Prize drawings are held weekly for all of the participants who report the books they read that week.

Like the CALS Summer Reading Program across the river in Little Rock, this year's theme is "Every Hero Has a Story." Suggested reading lists will be full of books that celebrate all kinds of heroes.

Plus, the library has a packed summer calendar of awesome storytimes and events! Kids can meet special guests like Craig O'Neill, Queen Elsa, Magic Mr. Nick and others. You'll find free events at both the Laman Library and the Argenta Branch; click here for the full schedule. Teens have their very own calendar here.
