Memorial Day is Monday (May 30), and we plan to make the most of our three-day weekend! In addition to our 5 event picks for the weekend, we've rounded up several ideas for family fun, including a few indoor options in case of thunderstorms or rain.

1. Water Parks

It's officially water park season! Grab your suit, a towel and plenty of sunblock and head to one of central Arkansas' many water parks. From the free community splash pads to thrilling slides at Magic Springs, most water attractions are now open for the season. See our full list here!

2. Mini Golf

Family time calls for a round of mini golf, and maybe a turn around the go-cart track...and a splash in the bumper boats. It's definitely the perfect weekend for a trip to Big Rock Fun Park! For more info, visit their Facebook page. P.S. Captain America will hand out free mini American flags on Monday!

3. Berry Picking

We love tasting berries straight from the patch, and blueberries will be ready and ripe for the picking at several berry farms this weekend. Check out our full list of u-pick berry patches in central Arkansas here.

4. Riding Bikes

When the sun is shining and a breeze is blowing, the Arkansas River Trail is a place for everyone—especially families! Load up your bikes (or rent from Bobby's Bike Hike in downtown Little Rock) to explore the trail's beautiful scenes, destinations and activities. Read about nine family-friendly spots on the Arkansas River Trail here!

5. Road Trip

Hit the open road and take the kids on a Natural State adventure! Earlier this year, travel writer Kat Robinson explored US Highway 71 with her daughter, Hunter, and shared their daily itineraries with our readers. We highly recommend repeating their travels, which led them from the Louisiana state line to Fort Smith to Rogers and Bentonville.

Rainy Day Fun

6. Trampoline Park

Jump around and banish the rainy day blues at Altitude Trampoline Park.

7. Museum Fun

Explore some of our favorite museums and their incredible new exhibits, including "Imaginate" at Museum of Discovery, "Dinosaurs Revealed" at Mid-America Science Museum, and "American Treasures from the Kinsey Collection" at Mosaic Templars Cultural Center.

8. Paint Party

Brighten up your kiddo's day at Pinot's Palette! Make reservations for the Open Studio event from 2-4 p.m. May 29. Parents and their little artists ages 6 and up can choose a summer painting to complete!

Happy Memorial Day!
