THV 11 celebrates its 15th year of fighting hunger with the THV Summer Cereal Drive! For the past 14 years, the news station has been rallying together with local businesses, groups, schools and individuals to provide nutritious breakfast items to low-income families during the summer months. And in those 14 years, the community has donated over 1.5 million breakfasts to Arkansas kids!

This year's THV Cereal Drive kicked off on June 1 and will continue through June 26, so you still have plenty of time to donate. All donations go to the Arkansas Foodbank, which will distribute the non-perishable food items throughout the state.

What can you donate? It's more than just cereal! And, remember, the goal is to provide nutritious breakfast staples (so try to steer clear of the super sugary varieties). Here's what's accepted:

  • Dry cereal: boxes or bags, 8oz. or more
  • Cereal/Breakfast Bars
  • Pop Tarts
  • Oatmeal
  • Cream of Wheat

You can drop off your donations at participating Walmart locations. Or, visit ArkansasFoodbank.org and make a donation to the "virtual cereal drive." You'll simply pick out your favorite box of cereal and/or select a dollar amount to donate.

You can also donate during the on-air Cereal Throwdown Mornings vs. Evenings on Tuesday, June 23. Tom Brannon will be live at Kroger on Markham and Rodney Parham in Little Rock from 5-9:30 a.m. And at Kroger on McCain Blvd. in NLR from 5-9:30 p.m., you'll find either Craig O'Neill or Ed Buckner gathering cereal.

Or, head to Dickey-Stephens Park on Wednesday, June 24 for a little fun with your food donation. When you give a box of cereal, you'll get $3 off admission to the Arkansas Travelers game that evening, plus you'll be entered to win tickets to the upcoming Kelly Clarkson concert at Verizon Arena!

And don't forget to tweet pics of your cereal donation efforts with the hashtag #SCD15 and #BeOn11!
