There's something you should know about this weekend: There are far too many awesome events for mere mortals to attend them all. Unless you can travel at the speed of light or stop time, don't even try! But, the good news is that you have plenty of options to pick from: The Museum of Discovery's Tinkerfest will let kids take apart cars and make a splash with water attractions; kids can try to reel in a big fish at a free fishing derby in Jacksonville; or, kick back and enjoy the Arkansas Arts Center Children's Theatre's production of "Puss in Boots."

Oh, and don't even get us started on this weekend's festivals—we're talking bacon, beer, local music and more. Check out our full list of festivals here.

One more thing: Several pumpkin patches open for the fall season this weekend, too. For our full list of all 19 farms and pumpkin patches, click here!

Fourth Annual Tinkerfest at Museum of Discovery: Tinkering takes over the MOD for an event with more than 40 hands-on, interactive activities, such as toy and car take-aparts, water exploration, light and shadow play, marshmallow shooters, a cardboard maze and more. Each activity engages children and adults, teaches visitors how everyday objects such as cars and computers work, and provides opportunities to explore the engineering and science behind building objects. Outside of the museum, you'll find food trucks selling a variety of foods. 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Sept. 19. Included with museum admission: $10, kids 1-12 $8, under 1 & members are free. Info: (501) 396-7050, MuseumOfDiscovery.org.

Puss in Boots at Arkansas Arts Center Children’s Theatre: Be amazed as swashbuckling Puss the Cat raises his master, Claude, from a down-and-out miller’s son to the heights of happiness. Enjoy all the madcap fun as Puss brandishes, not his sword, but his superior feline intellect to conquer kings and ogres (and even a few rabbits along the way). Performances are: 7 p.m. Fri.; 2 p.m. Sat. & Sun. Sept. 18-Oct. 4. Price: $12.50; AAC members are $10. Info: (501) 372-4000, ArkansasArtsCenter.org.

18th Annual Youth Fishing Derby & Family Fun Day Event at Shooting Range Pond in Jacksonville: Lots of hungry fish are biting at the annual youth fishing event in Jacksonville.
