After 40 seasons of theatrical storytelling, we still can't get enough of the Arkansas Repertory Theatre. Which is why we've been anxiously awaiting the announcement of The Rep's 41st season—and the wait is over!

Here's a peek at the Arkansas Repertory Theatre's 2016-2017 MainStage Season:

"Monty Python's Spamalot"

Aug. 31-Oct. 2, 2016

"Lovingly ripped off from the motion picture 'Monty Python and the Holy Grail,'" this hilarious Broadway musical will please fans of the original cult classic and its quotable script. Arthur and his brave knights must battle witches, wizards, killer bunny rabbits with big pointy teeth and the French on their eternal quest to find the Holy Grail. In the process, the heroes must create a hit stage show in a satirical jab at the entertainment industry.

"The Crucible"

Oct. 26-Nov. 13, 2016

Since its premiere in 1953, Arthur Miller’s chilling portrayal of the Salem Witch Trials has become an American stage classic—as well as a terrifying metaphor for modern times. "The Crucible" explores the insidious dangers of paranoia, mass hysteria and prejudice as the townspeople of Salem, Mass. turn against one another and falsely accuse their neighbors of witchcraft.

"A Christmas Story"

Nov. 30-Dec. 24, 2016

Based on the 1983 movie of the same name, this play brings all of the favorite film moments to the stage. Follow Ralphie Parker's misadventures as his family struggles to enjoy an all-American Christmas on the brink of World War II. Armed with an overactive imagination and the wide-eyed optimism of childhood, Ralphie creates fantastic schemes to guarantee that he will find a BB gun under the tree, which backfire with hysterical results.

"Sister Act"

Jan. 25-Feb. 26, 2017

Whoopi Goldberg starred in this hit 1992 film about a lounge singer who finds herself in a convent after she enters the witness protection program. Her difficulty fitting in with the other nuns and following Mother Superior's strict rules makes for a hilarious show—with soul-stirrin' music by Alan Menken and lyrics by Glenn Slater.

"Jar the Floor"

March 29-April 16, 2017

In this heartfelt comedy by Cheryl L. West, four generations of African-American women gather to celebrate their beloved, outrageous matriarch’s 90th birthday. The trouble is, recently widowed MaDear would rather watch her soap operas and read her Bible than blow out the candles on her cake.

"Godspell"

May 31-June 25, 2017

Reimagined by visionary director Donna Drake, this modern rock musical tells the Gospel According to St. Matthew as a southern parable set in a down-on-its-luck circus during the height of the Civil Rights Movement. To help create the Big Top setting, the production team will be joined by the aerial wizards of 2 Ring Circus, who created the spellbinding effects for last season’s family favorite "The Little Mermaid."
