Get ready for a colorful sidewalk celebration! Registration is now open for Thea Foundation’s annual sidewalk chalk event, Thea Paves the Way. During the event on Saturday, Sept. 22 on the front lawn of the William J. Clinton Presidential Library, students and families will share in a creative effort to cover the sidewalks in vibrant chalk art.

Thea Paves the Way will take place from 8 a.m. to noon and registration is free and open to school groups, church groups, families, clubs and other organizations. Teachers who register their students and compete together as a school group have a chance to win one of 10 $300 gift certificates for art supplies from Blick Art Materials.

Thea Paves the Way began in 2005 as one of Thea Foundation’s first outreach events to engage students, teachers, families, community groups and others in an exciting collaborative art project.  Now, the event draws more than 500 participants from near and far.

Participation includes free entrance to the Clinton Library valid the day of the event. Le Pops Gourmet Iced Lollies will be onsite selling handmade popsicles and face painters will make sure children’s faces are as decorated as the sidewalks. Some sidewalk chalk will be provided, but groups are encouraged to bring extra.

Participants may register online using the electronic registration form here. Make sure to register in advance, otherwise there won't be any sidewalk blocked off for your group to decorate. Visit theafoundation.org or call 501-379-9512 for more information.
