It’s never too early in the year for high school seniors to start thinking about scholarships. If you have a creative teen in your home, the Thea Foundation scholarship competition could be a perfect fit.

The nonprofit organization’s annual scholarship competition awards 30 scholarships each year ranging from $2,000 to $4,000.

Competition categories include performing arts, visual arts, creative writing, poetry slam, fashion design and film. Each category has a different online registration deadline ranging from late February to the end of March.

Following an online submission, many of the cateogires then require students to do a live presentation or performance in front of judges.

For more information about the categories and scholarship, visit the Thea Foundation’s website.

The scholarships are awarded based solely on students’ skills and creativity in whichever category they enter. Other factors such as test scores, GPA, or intent to major in a certain subject have no influence in the competition.
