Many parents have fond memories of watching "The Music Man" as children. The 1962 film made the musical and its songs very popular and now the live show is coming to Wildwood Park for the Arts from Oct. 21-23. It's a fun musical with great songs for kids to enjoy for the first time and parents to get nostalgic about!

The performance follows Harold Hill, a con man who sets up shop in River City, Iowa as a boys band director. Some songs you'll likely recognize include "Seventy-Six Trombones," the signature song that is now commonly played by marching bands. "Ya Got Trouble" is another favorite — the sing-along vibe of this tune will appeal to youngsters, even if the lyrics are a bit over their heads.

"The Music Man" movie is recommended for kids ages 6 and up, so very young kids may not enjoy the live show.

Praeclara, a performing arts organization sponsored by the Second Presbyterian Church in Little Rock, works in concert with Wildwood Park for the Arts to put on the show. Bevan Keating serves as director and Rebecca Stalcup is the choreographer.

General admission is $25, students and children under twelve are $15. For tickets, call (501) 821-7275 or visit WildwoodPark.org.
