Christmas stories are an annual tradition in many families. And this year, you can watch one of the classics come to life on stage at the Arkansas Arts Center!

"The Elves and the Shoemaker" is a play adapted from the old story by the Brothers Grimm. When a shoemaker falls on hard times, some magical helpers show up to help him out! The story is a wonderful reminder of what is truly important in life: family. 

If you haven't read the holiday favorite, be sure to check out the book before going to the show. It's full of lessons on the importance of repaying generosity with kindness in true Christmas fashion. 

The play is high energy and includes fun songs to keep all the audience members engaged and entertained. 

Performances at the Arkansas Arts Center Children's Theatre go from Dec. 2-18 on Fridays at 7 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays at 2 p.m. Tickets are $12.50 or $10 for Arkansas Arts Center members. Discounts are available for groups of 10 or more and children 2 and younger get in free. 

There is a special "pay what you can" performance on Thursday, Dec. 1 at 7 p.m. Tickets for the preview show on must be purchased in person at the Arkansas Arts Center from 10 a.m.–5 p.m. at the Stephens Inc. Visitors Center, or from 6–6:45 p.m. at the Children's Theatre Box Office, Lower Lobby Level.
