Clara, Geneva Millikan, is embraced by Herr Drosselmeyer, Stephen Stone. Millikan reprises her role Friday and Sunday.

Synonymous with Christmas is Tchaikovsky's timeless score from "The Nutcracker." The popular ballet takes the stage at the newly renovated Robinson Center this weekend.

"The Nutcracker" is a magical tale that sees a young girl named Clara's home and possessions — including her Christmas present, a nutcracker — come to life.

Watch dolls, soldiers, the Mouse King, snowflakes, the Sugar Plum Fairy and many other characters dance around the stage in this classic show set on Christmas Eve. Their journey to the Land of Sweets is an enchanting ride for children and parents alike.

Clara, Sophie Skrivanos, is surrounded by mice in this scene from Ballet Arkansas's 2015 production of "The Nutcracker."

Ballet Arkansas will also offer their annual boutique. Attendees can purchase official Ballet Arkansas Nutcracker apparel, ornaments and other souveniers. Not to mention families can take home their very own nutcracker!

The show's performances are at 7:30 p.m. on Dec. 9 and 2 p.m. on Dec. 10-11. Tickets range from $25-$70 with discounts for students and active military. For more information, call (501) 666-1761 or visit BalletArkansas.org/The-Nutcracker.
