The Benton elementary, middle, junior high and high schools all took part in a week of technology fun while learning about coding, an essential skill in today’s tech-infused culture.

According to the program website, coding skills help students with problem-solving and creativity.

Students participated in an “hour of code” in various ways during computer science education week from Dec. 5-11 including using library time or class time to learn about coding.

Night of Code expanded on that hour and gave students in grades 3-7 an opportunity to enjoy food, prizes, coding and demonstration booths such as “Dash Robot” and “Puzzlets.” Parents also had the opportunity to stay and learn with their kids.
