Nerdies, a division of the New Design school, recently announced that the NWA Nerd Awards have returned for 2017, and registration is now open. Founded in 2013 by Brad Harvey, Nerdies offers fun, interactive classes focused on areas of science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics (STEAM) for children ages 6-15.

Designed with the nerdy kid in mind, Nerdies summer sessions are limited-sized, week-long day sessions set in a positive, engaging environment. This year, sessions will be accessible in multiple locations across Northwest Arkansas like Fayetteville, Bentonville, Rogers, Crystal Bridges Museum and the Amazeum.

The NWA Nerd Awards is an entry-based contest designed to recognize all the smart and talented kids across the region who excel academically and want to take their passions for learning to the next level. Participants in the NWA Nerd Awards will compete for full scholarships, valued at $450 each, to attend an upcoming 2017 Nerdies Summer Session thanks to the generosity of program sponsors.
