Here’s a sample of some of the activities and attractions during Springfest on this Saturday, April 1.

“Ruff on the River” includes a pooch parade at 9 a.m. and short-legged dog races at 9:30 a.m., emceed by Craig O’Neill of THV-11 and Roger Scott of the Buzz 103.7 FM.

A good catch at the Super Retriever competition at Riverfest

The Super Retriever Series happens all day in the west pavilion. It features dogs competing for distance and height by jumping off of a large ramp into a pool.

A day-long slate of entertainers on the First Security Amphitheater Stage, headlined by Trout Fishing in America. There will also be community dance group performances, the Mom & Pop band and a performance by the Jesse White Tumbling Team.

Kids can enjoy face painting and laser tag, play in sand boxes and eight bouncy attractions, check out a mobile aquarium and an exhibit from Heifer International and more.

Children’s arts & craft activities are provided in the East Pavilion of the River Market.

Interactive activities within the Amphitheater area include the Construction Zone, where kids can climb and sit on large equipment as well as the Hero Zone where kids can interact with police and fire personnel as well as other everyday heroes in our community.

Food trucks, Loblolly Creamery and artist merchants will be on site throughout.
