Let kids explore their creative side through cooking, learn about eating healthy and find out if anyone in the family has a green thumb. Here are four food activities to try in Little Rock!

Kids Cook!

Kids Cook! is just what it sounds like: a cooking school just for kids. When kids make their own food, they are more likely to try new things and enjoy healthy foods. Upcoming events include the Kids Cook! Summer Camp with different options for kids 4-12 years old. Check the website for other classes and programs.

Whole Foods Kids Club

Whole Foods isn’t just for grocery shopping. Every Friday at 10 a.m. at the healthy food store, kids can enjoy a snack, craft and story all for free! See what's coming up by checking the schedule here.

Arkansas Foodbank

Food is something many of us may take for granted, but that’s not how it should be. Take the whole family to the Arkansas Foodbank to learn about what the organization does and then volunteer in the warehouse to sort food for a three-hour shift. Kids must be at least 8 years old to participate. Learn more about volunteer opportunities here.

Dunbar Garden

This garden offers community classes as well as internships for older students. Learn about how food grows then help out and get your hands dirty for a fun, educational experience. Check the Facebook page for events like a goat milking workshop, volunteer days and more. The garden sells produce from the garden on Wednesdays and at Bernice Garden Farmer's Market from April through the fall.
