What goes better with Easter than bunnies and eggs?! OK, we’re not sure what they have to do with Easter either. Nonetheless, families become obsessed with the furry rodents this time year. Lots of families even get bunnies as pets. But there are some problems with this.

Pet rabbits are often purchased from breeders rather than rescued from the large homeless, adoptable bunny population. And the influx of pet rabbit purchases around Easter rarely provides rabbits with permanent homes.

The Arkansas Pet Rabbit Network pairs homeless pet rabbits with families. Their website says that they turn down calls daily to take in unwanted bunnies. So think twice before you get a bunny for the kids. If you decide to add one to your family, get it from the Arkansas Pet Rabbit Network or another adoption agency. You can also visit the organization’s Facebook page for more details.

Special thanks to the Arkansas Pet Rabbit Network for providing furry friends for this month’s cover shoot.
