Twenty larger-than-life animatronic bugs are making their way to the Clinton Presidential Center for a temporary exhibit this spring and summer.

“Xtreme BUGS” will transport visitors into a vivid, dynamic and awe-inspiring new environment. Huge exhibits provide an up-close look at the fascinating physical characteristics of bugs and the science behind their behaviors.

Visitors will experience how the world would appear from a bug’s eye view. Vibrant backdrops illustrate bug habitats found around the world, including a dewy rainforest floor, the expanse of sub-Saharan Africa, a gentle meadow and a boggy burrow, to name a few.

The exhibit is designed to inspire, surprise and educate visitors of all ages. “Xtreme BUGS” will be open from April 22-July 23.

Here are some fun bug facts to talk about with your kids before heading over to the fun exhibit:

  • Ladybugs stack together by the millions to hibernate and stay warm through the winter.
  • Dragonflies assemble and travel amazing distances on the jet stream to find suitable climates for each stage in its life cycle.
  • Bees pollinate more than one-third of all crops for human consumption.
  • Spiders provide some of the best pest control for the common household.

The exhibit will also be open for class field trips and group visits. There are grade-specific educational programs and tours to accompany “Xtreme BUGS." School groups are asked to make reservations two weeks in advance and can tour the Clinton Center at no cost.  Reservations can be made here or by calling (501) 748-0419.
