A good old fashioned scavenger hunt can really get everyone excited about exploring. Adventure is all around you, even if you're hunting in places you've been many times before.

Little Rocks! is an initiative that aims to turn Little Rock into a big scavenger hunt for 16 weeks. The goal is to find painted rocks in public areas of Little Rock.

A special golden rock is hidden each week and a clue to its location is given from the Greater Little Rocks Facebook page. These rocks grant prizes from participating attractions, such as the Little Rock Zoo and Wild River Country.

The initiative started May 13 and at the end of the 16-week period, those who have found golden rocks are entered into a grand prize drawing.

Carver Elementary students helped kick off the event by painting and hiding rocks in the River Market. The idea is that in addition to the rocks hidden by the city, people will decorate and hide their own rocks. The city asks that people share the photos of found rocks and use the hastag #LRRocks on all of their social media.

Visit the Facebook page for more information and to keep track of the weekly clues. Happy hunting!
