Glitz and glam are coming to downtown Little Rock when the Miss High School America Scholarship Pageant takes place from June 26-July 1.

The city will host the national event for the first time in its history and contestants from all 50 states will gather here for nearly a week of competition and pageantry at the renovated Robinson Center.

Contestants will compete for the titles of Miss Junior High America, Miss High School America, and Miss Collegiate America at the beautifully renovated Robinson Center.

The program works to provide personal and professional opportunities for young women in junior high, high school, and college, and allow them to compete in a prestigious national level scholarship pageant. Unlike other pageants, Miss High School America focuses on academic achievement and community service involvement, and does not include swimsuit or talent competitions.

For a taste of what beauty pageants are all about, families can attend part of the competition and see the arrival of all the contestants. Here's the schedule of public events:

  • Tuesday, June 27 at 9 a.m.: Official Arrival Ceremony at the Old Statehouse Museum Front Lawn (Free).
  • Friday, June 30 at 6 p.m.: Preliminary Competitions at the Robinson Center (Tickets $50 at the door).
  • Saturday, July 1 at 2 p.m.: Crowning of Miss Junior High, Miss High School and Miss Collegiate America at the Robinson Center (Tickets $50 at the door).
