Feed Your Mind Friday at Little Rock Central High School: The 60th anniversary of the integration of Little Rock Central High School is coming up at the end of September. Before that anniverary arrives, learn more about the Little Rock Nine with a tour of the Central High National Historic Site from National Park Service Rangers. Easterseals Walk With Me 5K & Family Fun Walk: This event is fun for the whole family — with food, drinks and children’s activities including face painting and a petting zoo there’s no chance of boredom. The 5K takes place at 7 a.m. and the family fun walk starts at 8:30 a.m. It all happens at Christ the King Catholic Church, 4000 N. Rodney Parham in Little Rock. America's Armed Forces Kid's Color Run: Come out and have fun getting splashed with color and receive a free T-shirt for participating in this children’s running event at the Little Rock Air Force Base! Options include: preschool trot (ages 3-4), half-mile run (ages 5-6), one mile run (ages 7-8) 1.5 mile run (ages 9-10), and 2 Mile Run (ages 11-13). Free Admission Day at the Clinton Center: The Clinton Presidential Center is celebrating President Clinton's 71st birthday with a free admission day. Summer Science Smash at Mid-America Science Museum: This is a fun-filled day for kids of all ages with each activity powered by rubber bands. Visitors will be able to make “crunchy” slime, create rubber band splatter art and launch Nerf balls with a custom giant rubber band sling shot. During the day, the museum will launch a year-long activity to create one of the world’s largest rubber band balls. 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Regular admission ($8-$10) applies. State Park Explorers at Pinnacle Mountain State Park: Does your son or daughter have a passion for nature? The Arkansas State Park Explorers is a group of young people ages 6-14 who learn about nature, history and more together. Everybody Bikes! at the Clinton Presidential Center: This inaugural stock-bike race through the park surrounding the center is just what you need to get your blood pumping. Riders can compete as individuals or on a team. Bobby's Bike Hike will provide the identical bikes and attendees will get to enjoy a taco bar and ice cream (and beer, mom and dad). U.S. Navy Band Cruisers at the First Security Amphitheater: This weekend marks the first of three free outdoor concerts featuring U.S. military bands as part of the Little Rock Salutes series. Along with the live music from the Cruisers, the audience can take part in family-friendly public safety educational demonstrations and community-building activities. End of Summer Art Splash at War Memorial Park: Head to the splash pad for some cool and colorful fun! Creative Connection will be supplying paint and chalk for kids to use as well as doing face and body painting. "The Wizard of Oz" at Murry's Dinner Playhouse: Follow the yellow brick road straight to Murry's Dinner Playhouse for a family night at the theater as "The Wizard of Oz" hits the stage.
