It's time to put on your purple, green and gold — Mardi Gras celebrations are here!

Little Rock is giving you two great ways to celebrate this year, with parades and family fun on Saturday, Feb. 10 and Sunday, Feb. 11.

SoMardigas

The annual SoMardigras event is back again this year with a fun new theme: Purple Reign!

SoMa’s Annual Mardi Gras Parade starts at noon on Feb. 10 at 24th and S. Main Streets and will head north on S. Main to 12th Street. Some of the participants in the festive march include the Picasso’s in Purple, The Broadway Boilers, Arkansas Arts Center Children’s Theatre, Arkansas Roller Derby and many more.

Here's some of the fun happening at local stores all day long:

  • Loblolly Creamery will have Mardi Gras King Cake Sundaes.
  • Community Bakery will be featuring King Cakes with three flavor options, and giving away free slices.
  • The Escape Room has special cupcakes for the first 100. One lucky cupcake has a baby inside. Find it and get a free room!
  • The Green Corner Store is hosting a costume contest for people who stop by, take a photo and post to Instagram. The winner will receive a store gift card. While your there, pick up a King Cake-inspired matcha drink.
