Arkansas Urban Legends Haunted House in Sherwood — This haunted house at 7901 Warden Road will be open from 7-11 p.m. on weeknights and from 7 p.m.-midnight on weekends Oct. 1-Nov. 1. Admission is $10, which includes a glow-in-the-dark necklace. For info: 398-3327.

Tales of the Crypt at Mount Holly Cemetary — Join the Parkview Arts Science Magnet High School acting classes and the Parkview Jazz Ensemble on Oct. 11 as they present this annual visit with famous Arkansans interred in the historic Mount Holly Cemetery. Candlelight tours begin every five minutes from 5:30-8:30 p.m. Each tour lasts approximately one hour. Famous Arkansans represented this year include Katherine Wilshire, Richard Flanigan, L.A. Wallace, Lulu Wallace, Simon P. Hughes and many more. Event is FREE, but donations are accepted. For info: 447-2300.

Scimitar Shriners Temple of Terror — The third annual Temple of Terror on S. University Ave. is one of the largest haunted houses in the state. Come get spooked Oct. 13-15, Oct. 20-22 or Oct. 24-31. Hours are 7-10 p.m. Mon.-Thurs. and 7 p.m.-midnight Fri.-Sat. Admission is $10 per person. For info: 565-5992.

PAL Tavern of Terror at the Old Checkmate Club in NLR — This haunted house will be open 7-10 p.m. Oct. 18, 7 p.m.-midnight Oct. 21-22, 7-10 p.m. Oct. 24-27 and 7 p.m.-midnight Oct. 28-31. Cost is $10. Proceeds benefit the NLR Police Athletic League (PAL).

Halloween House in Benton — Halloween House, designed by the visual and performing artists of the Saline County Arts Project, will be from 6 p.m.-midnight Oct. 20-31. Located at 2121 Alcoa Road in Benton, this drive-by spectacle will send shivers up your spine and tickle your funny bone. It will feature a spooky art installation, guest appearances from celebrity zombies and spine tingling musical entertainment. For info: SalineCountyArts.com. FREE!

Washington After Dark at Historic Washington State Park — After enjoying a special evening meal at Williams Tavern, light your candle lanterns and accompany an interpretive guide through selected sites in Washington that have some “unexplained” happenings in their history. Cameras are welcome??•you may be able to “catch” a glimpse of someone or something! See if you’re brave enough for the Pioneer Cemetery after dark! Event will be from 6-9 p.m. Oct. 22 and 29.
