Art

Arkansas Arts Center Museum School: Art classes at the Museum School offer the opportunity for creative learning and interaction. Led by experienced artist-educators, a variety of classes are offered during after-school hours and on weekends. Cost: Prices vary by class and range from $118-$144 for a 10-week session.

Arkansas Extended Learning Center: Art camps for children in graded K-5 and Intensive Summer Review for ACT prep are both available throughout the summer. Cost: $199 for all five days; $60 daily.

ArtShop!: Classes are taught on a monthly basis on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 3:45-5 p.m. and 5:30-6:45 p.m. Mommy & Me classes are available. Four students maximum allowed per class. Cost: $120-$160/month.

Community Connections My Art: Students ages 4-17 with special needs explore mediums including acrylic paint, watercolor, charcoal and colored pencil. Cost: Free.

Saline County Arts Project in Benton: Professional artists share their knowledge with students in workshops or private lessons in the fine arts.

The Firefly Studio: Firefly offers art courses for students in kindergarten to high school. Kids Love Art is a 12-week program for home-school students. The Studio Art program is for traditional students, particularly those with more advanced skills. Cost: Kids Love Art grades K-2 $150; Kids Love Art grades 3 and up $198; Studio Art $198.

Cooking

Kids Cook!: Kids Cook! classes are held year round. September through May, there are after school classes at a number of schools in Little Rock.

Drama

Acts Jr.: This unique program is designed to integrate children ages 7-17 with and without disabilities through the use of performing arts. Cost: Free.

Music

Arkansas Symphony Orchestra: Various members of the symphony are available to teach private lessons to young musicians. Find a list of names and contact information at the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra website. Cost: Prices vary by instructor.

Carolyn’s Keyboard Corner: Lesson for children ages five and up emphasize a strong foundation in music fundamentals. Professional tenured music instructors from the Central Arkansas Music Academy offer instruction in a variety of instruments. Cost: $22.50-$25.

Little Rock Jams: Little Rock Jams offers private and group lessons for piano, guitar, voice, drums and bass. Students have opportunities to perform with our recital and rock school programs. Also included with your lessons are monthly workshops and jam sessions. Cost: The first Lesson is free; check website for fees.

Piano Lessons in Your Home: Learn piano, guitar and voice in the comfort of your own home with highly qualified teachers and flexible scheduling. Cost: Varies by time slot and form of payment.

Ro-An Music Teaching Studio in Benton: Lessons are available for guitar, voice, all wind instruments, bass, violin, drums and much more. Cost: $70/month.
