Active families can enjoy two family-friendly races this weekend. So, stretch out your legs, tie up your laces and step out to the Go! Mile and the Race to Remember on Saturday, June 14. Here are the details on both events:

Go! Mile at Burns Park: This family-friendly race features runs for all ages and paces. The Go! Mile, sponsored by Go! Running, showcases seven exciting heats, including the first mile, an national elite race, and the kid’s mini-mile. Everyone -- from beginning runner to an experienced road racer -- can enjoy a quick one-mile loop within the Burns Park Soccer Complex. Participants will also enjoy a pre-race packet pick up expo and race day festival. Registration begins at 6:30 a.m. and the first heat starts at 7:30 a.m. The kid's race for children ages 9 and under kicks off at 9 a.m., and the awards ceremony will be held at 9:15 a.m.

Proceeds benefit the Winston Penn Wardlaw Memorial Fund, which provides scholarships to deserving young men pursuing an education at Catholic High School. Registration fees vary. June 14. For info: GoRunning.com.

Race to Remember 5K at Dickey Stephens Park: Families are invited to run or walk this 5K course that begins at Dickey Stephens Park. This year's Race to Remember is the third annual fundraiser for Mamie's Poppy Plates, an organization that supports Arkansas families who experience infant loss. Families can form a team and walk or run in honor of a baby; participants can also release a biodegradable balloon in memory of a loved little one at 5:30 p.m. In addition the race, enjoy a pre-race party that begins at 4 p.m., and includes live music, door prizes, food and beverages, face-painting, jump houses and more activities for kids.
