Friday

Rent-A-Puppy at UA Little Rock: The community will have the opportunity to play and socialize with rescue and shelter dogs at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, next to Ottenheimer Library. Attendees may rent a dog for 10 minutes for $5. Toys will be provided, and dogs will be on leashes for people to handle. Puppies are available from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. For more details, email the event organizer.

Saturday

HarvestFest in Hillcrest: The day starts with a farmers market at 7 a.m. and then you'll find concerts, tons of food, free kids activities, fashion shows and tons of vendors taking over the streets of Hillcrest starting at 11 a.m. at this family favorite festival. Make sure to hit up the pancake breakfast at 9 a.m. A portion of the proceeds from this event goes to support The Allen School, an organization for young children with developmental delays. Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure: Get a team together and take part in this annual race together! This year's route includes crossing the new Broadway Bridge and strollers are welcome. Participants will all receive a Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure T-shirt. The race starts at 7:30 a.m. at 2nd Street and Broadway in downtown Little Rock. Harry Potter Science at the Museum of Discovery: Attention all magicals, muggles, squibs and beyond: the Museum of Discovery is hosting its second annual day dedicated to all things Hogwarts where you can get in on quill writing, potion making, broom flying and other wonderful wizard-y goodness. Be there from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. This event is included in the museum’s regular daily admission: $10 for adults, $8 for children 1-12 and free for museum members. Click here for details.

Fire Safety Day with the Little Rock Fire Department: The Little Rock Fire Department will host its seventh Annual Fire Safety Day at the Clinton Presidential Center grounds. Those in attendance can enjoy carnival rides, food, Molly the Fire Safety Dog and an antique fire truck. The event will also offer learning stations and demonstrations where families can receive more information on fire prevention and tools to ensure safety in the home. The fun goes from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. FREE!

9th Annual Conway Ecofest: Conway Ecofest promotes growth of a healthier environment and community through sustainability, education and innovation. Ecofest provides 200-plus educational and interactive exhibitors, including the Mid-America Museum, an Eco-Challenge, live music and entertainment, a market place, food and fun! Rhea Lana’s of Greater Little Rock: Discount shoppers, get your shopping bags ready. Rhea Lana's is a consignment sale offering gently used, name brand children's items, maternity clothes, toys and more. Movies in the Parking Lot - ‘The Goonies’: Head to an outdoor screening of the 1980s, adventure classic "The Goonies." The film will be shown in the parking lot of The Root Café at 1500 Main St. in Little Rock. The event opens at 6 p.m. and the movie will begin after sundown. Food will be available from food trucks and attendees are encouraged to bring their own seats and blankets. FREE!
