From a pooch parade to a baseball game, there's plenty happening this weekend in central Arkansas.

Friday

“Charlotte's Web” at UCA Reynolds Performance Hall: This classic play is based on E.B. White’s loving story of the friendship between a pig named Wilbur and a little gray spider named Charlotte. Wilbur has a problem: how to avoid winding up as pork chops! Charlotte, a fine writer and true friend, hits on a plan to fool Farmer Zuckerman. Saturday

Downtown Dash for Junior League: The race will start at 8:30 a.m. at the Junior League Building on Scott Street, and will feature downtown Little Rock landmarks, such as the River Market, Clinton Library, and Arkansas Arts Center. The race is also handicap and stroller accessible. In addition to the 10K/5K, this year’s event will include a Kids 1K event, “Downtown Dash, Jr.,” which begins at 8 a.m. Registration ranges from $10-$40. CALS Con 2018 at the Main Library: A family-friendly celebration of all things fandom. The day includes workshops, gaming, crafts and more. Kid-friendly happenings include:

Springfest at the First Security Amphitheatre: The third annual Springfest will be held in and around the First Security Amphitheatre and the River Market pavilions and feature the Super Retriever Series, a pooch parade, a bounce zone, face painting, science shows from the Museum of Discovery and more! Arkansas Travelers Opening Weekend at Dickey-Stephens Park: Take us out to the ball game! It's time for some baseball! The Travelers open their season with games against San Antonio and Corpus Christi. On Friday, they play at 7:10 p.m. and there are post-game fireworks. On Saturday, the game starts at 6:10 p.m. and on Sunday the game is at 2:10 p.m. and the whole family is admitted for $10 with a church bulletin! Visit the website for more details.
