Going for a swim should be part of every child's summer — but many kids in central Arkansas lack the equipment necessary to head to the pool.

On May 22, U.S. Pizza and Lost Forty are throwing a “Party on the Patio” at their Hillcrest location to raise money for Project Swim, which serves near homeless children at Our House all summer long.

The event raises money for kids to get a new swimsuit, beach towel and pair of flip flops. From 5-9 p.m., the proceeds from food sales at Party on the Patio will go towards Project Swim and for every Lost Forty beer sold, $1 will be donated to Project Swim.

There will be live music from Brian Nahlen Band and frozen treats from Loblolly Creamery for the whole family from 6-8 pm.

"Project Swim is an essential drive to Our House. It allows hundreds of kids to experience summer in the most enriching ways," Drew Weber, COO of U.S. Pizza, said in a news release. "For most of our kids, it is their first opportunity to learn to swim. We are thankful for the community of support that we have that enables us to provide homeless and near homeless kids this amazing opportunity."
