HarvestFest in Hillcrest: You'll find concerts, tons of food, free kids activities, fashion shows and tons of vendors taking over the streets of Hillcrest at this family favorite festival. Make sure to hit up the pancake breakfast. A portion of the proceeds from this event goes to support The Allen School, an organization for young children with developmental delays. Chili Fights in the Heights: Welcome in cool fall weather with this cozy and tasty event. Chili Fights in the Heights is a neighborhood festival with two purposes: to have fun and to raise money for the Arkansas Foodbank. For just $5, attendees get to taste tons of delicious chili and then vote on their favorite. The gun goes from noon-7 p.m. For more details, head to the website.
Hillcrest Pumpkin Roll in Hillcrest: Halloween fun is over, which means it’s time to get rid of your jack-o-lantern. Head to Hill Road and Midland Street to roll your pumpkin down the hill and for a chance at prizes for kids and adults.The pumpkins fly at 2 p.m. For more info, click here.
Family Craft Activities at the Clinton Center: The Clinton Center will host free family craft activities in conjunction with the current temporary exhibit, "The White House Collection of American Crafts: 25th Anniversary Exhibit,” and in partnership with the Arkansas Arts Center. Enjoy knitting and basket weaving tutorials for visitors of all ages from 1-3 p.m. Activities are free and open to the public, but admission fees are required to tour the museum. Rhea Lana's Consignment Event in Little Rock: Discount shoppers, get your shopping bags ready. Rhea Lana's is a consignment sale offering gently used children's items, maternity clothes, toys and more. Admission and parking are free. The sale is taking place at 2616 S. “Hansel and Gretel's Gingerbread Games ” at the Arkansas Arts Center Children’s Theatre: This not-so-grim musical adds a fresh and playful twist to an old, old fairy tale. Follow Hansel and Gretel along bread crumb trails, through dark and spooky woods and finally to a house that you can actually eat! Fall Foliage Cruise on Lake Maumelle: Want to go out on the water but don't want to do the paddling? A park interpreter will guide your cruise on the park’s pontoon boat to view the beautiful landscapes, historic structures, and the lake’s wildlife all in the beauty of the changing leaves and vibrant colors along the water.
