The Arkansas Arts Center is ready to tackle another semester of learning and fun, with fall classes kicking off in early September.

Since the museum is closed for massive renovations and additions for the next couple years, classes are taking place at their new temporary location in Riverdale at 2510 Cantrell Road (formerly a Walmart Neighborhood Market) and at various Central Arkansas Library System locations.

The Riverdale location has 15,200 square feet of studio space across seven studios for use by classes in all media. Most of the equipment and tools (kilns, printing presses, woodworking tools, potter’s wheels, etc.) from the Museum School was moved to the temporary space. For more information on the new space, click here.

Youth classes on the fall semester lineup include clay, drawing, ceramics, theater and more. Most classes meet for five to 10 sessions during the semester. There are also two special weekend workshops that are one class only.

Online registration for the fall semester closes on Sept. 8 and tuition varies for each class/program. Visit the website for the complete class listings or call 501-372-4000 for more information.

The new Arkansas Arts Center is projected to open in spring of 2022.
