Grand Opening of "Kid Inventor" Exhibit at Museum of Discovery: "Kid Inventor" encourages children to design, test and build unique creations using a variety of materials and technologies. The exhibit features a build area, a tech studio and a section called "spare parts." Access to the exhibit is included in general admission. The museum is open from 9-5 p.m. Read more about it here.

Labor Day Food Truck Party at The Rail Yard: Enjoy live music all day long, play outdoor games and chow down on tons of good food. The fun goes from 11 a.m.-10 p.m., so swing by anytime to grab some food. Food trucks include Count Porkula, Tacos Godoy, Nach'Yo Nachos and A Little Crêpesy. Click here for more details.

Lake Maumelle Boat Tour at Westrock Marina: Venture out to experience a tour on Lake Maumelle with a park interpreter. Enjoy scenic views and lessons on ecology and history. Chose from at 1 p.m. or 3 p.m. tour. Tickets are $15 for adults, $8 for ages 6-12 and free for ages 6 and under. Call 501-868-5806 to purchase.

Saturday-Sunday

Labor Day Festival at Bass Pro Shops: Swing by Bass Pro for free food and free fun! Try games like the ring toss and bean bag toss, participate in holiday sign decorating and get in line for face painting. There's also free hot dogs and funnel cake for everyone to enjoy! The fun goes from noon-5 p.m. Saturday and noon-4 p.m. Sunday. Click here for more info. FREE!

Monday

Labor Day Kayak Adventure at the Big Maumelle Boat Launch: Paddle your way through Pinnacle's majestic lowland river while viewing large cypress trees and a variety of wildlife. End of Summer Celebration at the Little Rock Zoo: Join the Zoo's end of summer celebration featuring amazing birds who are the recycling superstars of the animal world! From 10 a.m.-1:30 p.m. there will be activities and a special presentation about nature's Cleanup Crew. Click here for info. Regular Zoo admission applies.
