For Little Rock families, the Museum of Discovery is a great way to keep your cool on a super-hot summer day. Especially a day when you want to sneak in some education-fueled fun as kids (and parents) learn more about the human body, inertia, Arkansas wildlife and more. The Museum is set to reopen June 23 — after temporarily closing their doors in March. Here are a few guidelines to keep in mind before your next family trip.

COVID-19 Guidelines:

The Museum is still all about experimenting and having fun, but pandemic guidelines have added a few more things to consider before you head out.

Visitor Expectations:

  1. Museum guests 10 and older are required to wear a mask.

  2. Social distancing will be implemented.

  3. Families can practice great personal hygiene by using the additional hand sanitizing stations at the museum.

Museum’s Response:

The Museum will implement all ADH mandates including limiting crowd size, posting signage to encourage social distancing, performing temperature checks for staff and volunteers and increasing cleaning. During their hiatus, the Museum also installed features to further sanitize their space like plexiglass shields at the front desk and hospital-grade UV lights in the air ducts. Note: Some exhibits and spaces that may be especially high-touch or difficult to allow social distancing or sanitization will be closed until further notice.

Great News:

The museum will be extending memberships an additional three months and extending their crowd-favorite "Dinosaurs: Fossils Exposed" exhibition through the end of the year!
