Ballet Arkansas is in full gear with its lineup for remaining summer classes and workshops along with what to expect early this fall. With options for all ages and levels ranging from beginner to expert, there’s something for everyone. Read on to see what’s coming up. 

Summer

Boys Intensive 

9 a.m. - 12 p.m. August 3, 5, and 7 

  • Perfect for boys 10+ who have already begun developing their dance skills, this intensive aims to strengthen and discipline the body while improving flexibility and balance. Cross training meets dance in this all-male class.

Fall

Ballet Under the Stars

6:30 - 7:30 p.m. Thursdays in August

  • This is what we’re talking about: stress relief and toning all in one. Those 16+ are invited to join this relaxing, ballet-based workout at sunset while enjoying the combination of nature and dance. 

Absolute Beginner Ballet

6-7:15 p.m. Mondays in August 

  • If you’ve never so much as put on a ballet shoe, this class is for you. Here, adults will learn the fundamentals of classical ballet while increasing mobility, getting fit and reducing stress. 

BA Boy’s Club

  • Ballet Arkansas’ Michael Fothergill, an internationally recognized instructor specializing in training the developing male dancer, instructs with an emphasis on endurance and strength training, flexibility, balance and nutritional counseling. Combined with an array of dance classes, this club is perfect for the up-and-coming male dancer. 

Silver Fitness

9-10 a.m. Wednesdays in August

  • These classes offer the luxury of virtual instruction for those who prefer to stay home. Experience the joy of dance at any age with this low-impact exercise regime that combines relaxation to improve balance, flexibility, strength and posture.
