It’s easy to enrich your child’s virtual classroom with a little help from your favorite local spots. We found fun and safe solutions for everything from PE to help with core classes. 

PE

  • Ballet Arkansas: You can check out their free virtual classes or enroll in small group lessons this fall. 

  • Defy: Defy’s School Year Membership is designed specifically for virtual students. Perks include unlimited jump time Monday-Friday until 3 p.m and more! 

  • Arkansas Skatium: Roll into activity at the Arkansas Skatium. They even have a free hour of skating every Friday night on their calendar. 

Science

  • Museum of Discovery: The MOD has a lot going on this fall between Tinkerfest, Wiggle Worms and their new exhibit Science + You. Learn more here.  

  • Mid-America Science Museum: The Mid-America Science Museum’s fall programming is back. Check their calendar for Science Tots, Homeschool Days and more. 

  • Pumpkin Patches: You can also get some hands-on experience with plants and animals at your favorite local patch. Check out all the details here. 

Art & Music 

  • ZigZag: A ZigZag virtual class offers a month of fun. Each class comes with supplies and video tutorials for four projects based around a fun theme. Sign up here. 

  • Arkansas Arts Center: The AAC has three more art classes for students kicking off soon. Check them out and register here.  

  • West Little Rock Performing Arts Academy at Wildwood: Wildwood’s offerings focus on private and small group instruction for the performing arts — from voice and piano to guitar and dance. Call Registration Coordinator Kira Keating at 501- 831-8927 for information on cost and schedule.

Tutoring 

  • LR Learning Center: Student plans include private lessons, group lessons, virtual lessons, drop-in homework help, editing and more. Learn more about their individualized approach here. 

  • Sylvan Learning Center: Sylvan Learning Center has also adapted their tutoring approach to include virtual as well as in-person tutoring sessions.
