We are thankful for each contributor, family and kid who helped make this issue one of our favorite of the year. It’s full of resources for all Little Rock parents—from those who have a child with special needs to those who want to learn more about how to support kids with special needs in our community.

Inside the Issue

Check out our digital issue, or grab a copy, to find our Special Needs Resource Guide. It features everything from medical needs to recreation options for kids with special needs. Our feature story is a collection of interviews with seasoned parents of special needs children with encouragement for those just starting on their parenting journey.

The November issue also includes a list of accessible playgrounds around the metro, an eye-opening parent chat from moms of special needs kids and our November giving guide, featuring ways Little Rock families can support organizations that devote their time to kids with special needs.

An Extraordinary New Series

We are also excited to introduce a new series from our copy editor and contributing writer Heather Honaker. As a mom of a child with Down syndrome, she feels passionate about telling the stories of kids and young adults with special needs from around the metro. Check out the profiles of spunky jewelry-designer Lila, aspiring musician Michael Joe and active community member Brandon to get a taste of her Extraordinary series. Stay tuned for more profiles coming soon!
