Time for your kiddos to slip on their boogie shoes -- registration is now open for the programs offered by I Can! of Arkansas.

Currently, the organization is offering dance and music classes for children with special needs, though more offerings, such as art, will be added throughout the fall. Dance classes begin in late September and are held at the I Can! Arts and Resource Center (1040 Angel Court, Little Rock), as well as other locations in North Little Rock, Sherwood, Conway and Hot Springs. For the full schedule and list of locations, visit ICanArkansas.com.

Two music classes will also be held at the center, one for children ages 10 and up and another for adults with special needs. The classes will focus on instruments, and will also include some voice and choir coaching.

Mark your calendars now for the fourth annual I Can! Dance with the Stars recital, held at 10 a.m. Dec. 6 at Maumelle High School. The recital will showcase students from I Can! Dance and Music classes, as well as local celebrities, including Channel 4's Aaron Nolan, Channel 7's Chris Kane and Shane Broadway, the Director of the Department of Higher Education.

The organization is also looking for volunteers to help with the dance and music classes in the fall. Children over 10 years old and adults are invited to become a Buddy. Learn more about volunteer responsibilities at the Buddy Workshop at 7 p.m. Sept. 11, held at the I Can! Arts and Resource Center.
