Behind-the-Circus: Meet Performers Viktoria & Elly
If you follow Little Rock Family on Instagram, you may have noticed that we had two very special visitors to our office earlier this week: Viktoria Zsilak and Elly Meyers from the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey circus!
The two traveling performers stopped by for a quick chat and to show us some of their moves (see Viktoria's impressive juggling on our Insta account!). They may have even inspired a couple of our staff members to run away with the circus!
Here are a few things to know about Viktoria and Elly before you see them dazzle in "Built to Amaze" at Verizon Arena this week.
Viktoria Zsilak, Elephant Presenter
Cool mom alert! Viktoria's husband, Alex Petrov, is a fellow performer and the duo travel by RV with their two children, Richard and Sophia. The family loves to see the sights or visit museums in every city they visit.
In the show, you'll see Viktoria and Alex present the elephants Asia and April. Viktoria says they have a special bond with their massive co-stars, and she's even taught Asia to juggle!
Viktoria also grew up in a circus family--both her grandparents and parents toured with various troupes--and has many talents. She has presented horses and other exotic animals, performed an upside-down act with her husband and is a skilled juggler.
Elly Meyers, Dancer
Elly has been dancing since the age of four and is one of two dancers you'll see in the "Built to Amaze" show. This is her second tour with the circus, and she's performed in countless Bollywood movies.
Originally from Australia, Elly loves exploring the United States as the circus travels across the country. For this performer, the coolest experiences so far have been seeing Times Square and the bright lights of Broadway!
Ringling Bros. & Barnum & Bailey's "Built to Amaze" show will be at Verizon Arena, Aug. 20-23. General admission tickets for opening night on Aug. 20 are just $10 per person! For more info, see our post about the show here.
