Expecting parents are sometimes faced with the unthinkable—the loss of their infant. In central Arkansas, there are many organizations to help families through the death of their newborn child or the experience of perinatal bereavement.

One of those organizations is Holy Sews, a volunteer group that provides handmade infant burial clothing for parents who experience the loss of their baby during gestational weeks 16-25. These micro preemie babies are much too tiny and fragile for any other clothing that is readily available. Layettes that families can choose from are supplied to hospitals and funeral homes at no charge.

In April, central Arkansas can help Holy Sews continue their invaluable work. The organization is hosting an April Showers Supply Drive to restock much-needed sewing supplies, including:

  • 1/4″ & 5/8″ Satin Ribbon
  • 5/8″ Grosgrain Ribbon
  • 5/8″ White Organza Ribbon
  • 3/8″ Ribbon Rose (Pastels)
  • Fleece (Pastels & Whites)
  • Flannel (Pastels & Whites)
  • White Tulle/Netting
  • Eyelet & Lace Trim
  • Box Pleat Trim
  • Fray Check
  • Rick Rack (Pastels & White)

If you aren't sure what to buy, Holy Sews is also accepting direct donations or gift cards to any of the following stores:

  • Hobby Lobby
  • Wal-Mart
  • The Stitching Post
  • Joann Fabrics
  • Amazon.com

Donations can be delivered to Holy Souls Catholic Church, 1003 N Tyler St, Little Rock, AR 72205 or mailed to Holy Sews, P.O. Box 251506, Little Rock, AR 72225.
