Pumpkin decorating season is right around the corner. If your little ones are too young to carve a pumpkin, no worries. We have five Pinterest ideas to decorate pumpkins — no knives needed! And of course if these are a little too complicated for your kiddos, there's nothing wrong with just having some finger painting fun and doing your own thing. Happy decorating!

1. Mummy Pumpkin by Mother's Niche

All you need for this adorable pumpkin is gauze, googly eyes and a hot glue gun. Just make a glue spot on the pumpkin and start the gauze. Then wrap around and glue again. Repeat. Finally, attach your eyes and if you’d like you can use a sharpie and add a mouth. Easy as pie.

2. Woodland Creatures Pumpkin by Simple As That

In six simple steps you can make an adorable woodland creature. Step 1. Gather supplies – orange faux pumpkin, orange cardstock, sharpie, off-white felt, scissors, adhesive. Step 2. Download the Fox Cup pattern from the Simple As That blog post. Step 3. Use pattern pieces to cut out felt and orange card stock for the fox’s tail, ears and face. Step 4. Glue tail pieces together. Step 5. Attach paper pieces to pumpkin as shown using adhesive/glue gun. Step 6. With a sharpie add a nose and eyes.

3. Sequin Polka Dot Pumpkin by Sugar & Cloth

These might be the easiest, sparkly pumpkins you’ve ever made: Apply the craft glue to the pumpkin in a circular motion, then pat a few sequins in place once the glue is tacky, being sure to cover the whole circle. Let them dry, and you’re all set.

4. Donut Pumpkin by The DIY Playbook

Step 1: Pick up a craft pumpkin from Michaels, or order one from Michaels.com. The you’ll first want to paint on the donut’s “frosting.” We did white (vanilla), brown (chocolate), and pink (strawberry).  Make sure you just paint the top portion of the pumpkin and not the whole thing! We did 2 light coats of paint and let it dry. Step 2: Once your frosting is dry, it’s time to add the best part…the sprinkles! If you don’t want to keep washing your paint brushes, you’ll need to have a paint brush for every sprinkle color. Have fun with it and add as many or as few as you want!

5. Fruit Pumpkin by Style Me Pretty

For the pineapple, choose a taller pumkin and paint it yellow. Step 1. Next, using a thin paint brush draw four diagonal lines going one way and two diagonal lines crossing the others in the center of your pumpkin. Step 2. To make the greenery for your pineapple, cut out a strip of paper and make jagged edges. Then, make a circle and tape it together. I bent some of my edges to make flaps so it would appear more organic looking. Step 3. Next, take a smaller piece of paper and attach it to the base of your circle and then to the top of your pumpkin to secure the greenery to the pumpkin. Ta-da! A fruity pumpkin.
