Stephanie Zhao, a senior at Pulaski Academy in Little Rock, accomplished a one-in-a-million feat by performing perfectly on all three major college entry tests, the ACT, SAT and PSAT. About 8 in 10,000 students achieve a perfect ACT Composite score of 36, and just 3 in 10,000 get a perfect 2400 on the SAT.

Generally less than 1 in 10,000 students score perfectly in the PSAT, which determines which students qualify as National Merit semifinalists. The qualifying score is taken from a single test date in October of a student’s junior year. The odds of perfect scores on all three are less than one in a million.

Stephanie, who also has a perfect grade-point average at PA, is an accomplished pianist, a state finalist in the National History Day competition, and a member of Model U.N., the medical club, the Chinese Club and the French Club. She is president of the Green Club and vice president of PA’s chapter of Amnesty International.

“No matter what profession I will have later in my life, I plan to remain involved in community work and become a leader of a local shelter for victims of domestic violence, human trafficking, or poverty,” Stephanie said. “I know my time and contribution can leave an impact on people who are in an undesirable stage of their lives.”
