Modus Studio created this artist's rendering of the Garvan Tree House, which is set for construction in a few months. Tres Fromme designed the educational component of the treehouse.

Everyone get out your tin cans and connect them with yarn, it's time to go see and hear about a huge treehouse at Garvan Woodland Gardens. Construction of the $1 million Garvan Treehouse is set to begin in a few months. Speakers will present the specifics of the upcoming attraction at 1:30 p.m. on March 2 at Garvan Woodland Gardens.

The treehouse will be nestled in the Evan's Children's Adventure Garden and embodies the theme of dendrology, which is the scientific study of trees. Natural materials make up the majority of the planned structure, but tasteful use of glass and metal are also planned.

Designs are directed at using the structure to teach children about nature through interactive exhibits and structures. A hands-on learning experience is another component of the treehouse.

The informational event is open to the public. For more information, call (501) 366-4664 or visit the Gardens' website.
