Friday

Family Movie Day: The Maumelle Library gives you a cool, relaxing way to spend your Friday afternoon: a free movie! They'll be showing “Matilda” (PG). Parents are strongly encouraged to attend with their kids and all attendees will receive free snacks. Saturday

Great Southern Stone Skipping Championships at the Fairfield Bay Marina: Start looking for the best rocks and warm up your throwing arm — there are cash prizes in this annual stone skipping competition. There are divisions for kids and adults. Proceeds benefit Arkansas Foodbank and its member food pantries in Choctaw, Clinton and Greers Ferry. The fun goes from 9-10:30 a.m. Free for Spectators; $10 entry fee for competitors. Visit the Facebook page for more information.

Canoe Float: Paddle your way through Pinnacle Mountain State Park’s majestic lowland river while viewing large cypress trees and a variety of wildlife. Meet at the Big Maumelle Boat Launch at Pinnacle Mountain State Park. Paddle around from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. $40 per canoe. Click here for more details. 

Nature Crafts at the Witt Stephens Jr. Central Arkansas Nature Center: Head to the Central Arkansas Nature Center and make a butterfly photo holder. All materials are provided. The fun goes from 1-2 p.m. Click here for more information. FREE!

Beebe Family Fun Night: Celebrate the holiday weekend with free hot dogs, popcorn, drinks and ice cream (while supplies last), as well as music, bouncy houses and face-painting, all starting at 6 p.m. At 8 p.m., watch "Moana" on a giant screen in Field #2. Be sure to bring lawns chairs and/or a blankets for seating. A spectacular fireworks show will conclude the event. It all takes place at the Beebe Ballpark. Sunday

Hispanic Heritage Day at Magic Springs: Get discounted admission to Magic Springs and celebrate Hispanic heritage! Tickets are $22.50 plus tax online only. At the gate, regular admission ($44.99 plus tax) applies. Los Traileros del Norte will play in concert at 8 p.m. at Timberwood Amphitheater in the park. Monday

Cammack Village 5K and Family/Pup Fun Run at Cammack Village City Hall: Whether you just want a fun workout to start your day off or you're hoping to set a new personal record on the 5K, this event is fun for the whole family. Cruise through this annual course with your choice of the 3.1 miler or the one mile loop. The 5K start time is 8 a.m. and the fun run starts at 9 a.m. For more info, click here.

Kayak Float: Paddle your way through Pinnacle Mountain State Park’s majestic lowland river while viewing large cypress trees and a variety of wildlife. Saturday-Monday

Arkansas Travelers vs. Midland at Dickey-Stephens Park: On Saturday, the Travs play at 6:10 p.m. and the first 1,000 fans in the gate receive a free frisbee. On Sunday, the game starts at 2:10 p.m. and the whole family (two adults and up to four kids) can get in for $10 if you bring your church bulletin from that morning. Monday's game at 2:10 p.m. is the last one of the regular season and will feature free train rides on the Travs Express. Regular admsision for each game is $6-$12 per ticket.
