Planning to participate in the Museum of Discovery’s Dino Dash in May? If you’re going to be pushing a stroller, there’s an exciting new training program just for you. The Museum of Discovery and Stroller Strides have partnered to produce a 5K 10-week training program, which begins March 12. The program includes group runs at 7 a.m. Saturdays and individual runs two other days per week with online coaching support.

"At the suggestion of one of our runners, we launched the stroller division with the 2010 Dino Dash," said Nan Selz, Museum of Discovery executive director, "and the community response was wonderful. Partnering with Stroller Strides was a natural next step.  Stroller Strides is the leader in stroller-based fitness programs and its local coordinator, Susan Robinson, was on staff at the Museum of Discovery for many years."

Each Saturday run will be preceded by a short educational session. Topics will include mastering the unique running form for running with a stroller, preventing injury, increasing speed, distance and endurance, choosing the right shoe and more.  Additional strength training will also be available at the Saturday meetings.

The cost to participate is $120, which includes all instruction, online coaching, and entry to the stroller division of the 2011 Dino Dash on May 21.
