You'll be eager to take a family field trip or two to the Arkansas Arts Center this spring and summer--starting this Sunday, April 12, the museum will host special activities for families every Sunday!

The "Free Family Sundays" will take place from noon-3 p.m. each Sunday from April 12-June 21. The new program coincides with the "30 Americans" exhibit, and aims to help families engage with the exhibit through hands-on activities.

"30 Americans," which opens to the public April 10, presents a sweeping survey of artwork by many of the most important African-American artists of the last four decades. The exhibition features work by such early and influential artists as Barkley L. Hendricks, Robert Colescott and Jean-Michel Basquiat, and those of younger and emerging artists, like Kehinde Wiley, Wangechi Mutu and Shinique Smith.

And don't forget--later this month, families can enjoy the final play of the season at the Arkansas Arts Center Children's Theatre. "The Legend of Robin Hood" will play April 24-May 10, with performances each Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Theatergoers will see Robin Hood and Merry Band as they outwit the Sheriff of Nottingham! Tickets are $12.50, members $10. A special Pay What You Can Night performance will take play at 7 p.m. April 23.
