Parents prioritize safety for their kids each and every day. However, one area that is often overlooked is car seat safety.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, nearly half of all car seats are installed incorrectly, which means children may not be traveling as safely as possible.

To help reduce that number, Arkansas Children’s Hospital has partnered with Dairy Queen and the Benton and Sherwood Police Departments for the inaugural Ice Cream & Car Seats event, kicking off Child Passenger Safety Week.

On Saturday, Sept. 14 from 10 a.m.-noon, stop by Dairy Queen locations in Sherwood, Cabot and Benton where parents and caregivers can learn how to correctly install their child’s car seat and how to secure their child correctly into the car. Those who complete the car seat fitting will receive a free kids meal from Dairy Queen.
