Little Rock has a wealth of talent in professional actors. A new program aims to make use of that talent to teach kids how to put on a theater production.

“Mt. Stage: The Hamilton Experience” is a summer day camp that takes place from 8:45 a.m.- 3:30 p.m. June 26-30 at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. Two tracks, “performance and musicality" and “stagecraft and engineering," are available to 30 seventh- and eighth-graders who participate.

Students will work together to perform musical numbers inspired by "Hamilton" and put on a performance at the end of the week. The program is free to all participants, funded by an Academic Enrichment for the Gifted and Talented in the Summer grant from the Arkansas Department of Education.

Applications can be found online and are due by April 17. For more information, call (501) 569-3410 or visit the website.
